Contract Converting Quote Checklist
Prepare a converting quote with material, dimensions, tolerances, quantity, packaging, and delivery details your supplier can evaluate.
Begin with one complete job specification
A comparable converting quote starts with the same input and output requirements for every supplier. A finished width alone leaves important questions unanswered: the incoming roll may be too large for a machine, a coating may require special handling, or the finished core may not fit the receiving line.
Use your current specification revision, label, or drawing where available. Mark anything that is still an estimate. If you do not know a dimension, identify the equipment or application instead of inventing a number.
Describe the material arriving for conversion
Identify the grade and manufacturer where known, caliper or basis weight, coating or treated side, roll count, width, outside diameter, weight, and core inside diameter. Note visible damage and confirm when the material can be delivered.
A photo of the existing label can help the team understand the stock. It does not replace measurements or inspection when a dimension or condition is uncertain.
Specify the finished output
Choose the relevant format and include the downstream acceptance requirements.
- Sheets: width × length, grain direction, dimensional tolerances, squareness, quantity, and pallet limits.
- Rolls: slit widths and quantities, core size, finished diameter or length, winding direction, and splice restrictions.
- Both: labeling, wrapping, lot identification, allowed substitutions, and who approves a first run.
State quantity, timing, and delivery basis
Give the full volume and any partial quantity that would help production start. Specify whether the date is required at Bengal dispatch or at your receiving dock. Include the destination and carrier arrangements.
Ask the quote to distinguish setup, converting, packaging, freight, storage if needed, and any minimum charge. Compare those assumptions before comparing the total. Bengal can review incomplete requests and identify which details are needed for a firm proposal.
Request a Converting Quote
Send your material, incoming dimensions, required output, approximate quantity, and delivery date. We will review the job and confirm what is needed to prepare a quote.
