Industrial Film Slitting & Rewinding Services

Industrial Film Slitting & Rewinding Services

Have film slit and rewound to the roll format your production line needs. Discuss material, finished width, core size, winding direction, and trial requirements.

Film rolls prepared for your next process

Bengal reviews industrial film slitting and rewinding requests at its Royersford, Pennsylvania facility. Start with the film construction and the finished roll specification, so the team can assess material handling and equipment fit before quoting.

Whether the next step is printing, laminating, packaging, or another converting operation, share the requirements of that process. A roll that meets the width requirement can still be unsuitable if its core, winding direction, or finished diameter does not match the receiving equipment.

Describe the film, including both sides

Identify the material, thickness and units, coating or surface treatment, and any layer structure you know. State which side must face in or out on the finished roll. For printed or treated film, a marked diagram helps avoid an orientation mistake.

  • Incoming roll: width, outside diameter, weight, core inside diameter, and roll count.
  • Finished roll: each slit width and quantity, core size, maximum diameter or weight, and winding direction.
  • Acceptance: width tolerance, edge requirements, permitted splices, and any handling restrictions.

Agree a trial when material behavior needs checking

Stretch, wrinkles, surface marking, blocking, and static can affect a film converting job. Tell the team about issues seen in earlier runs and any restrictions on contact with the film surface.

Bengal can review whether a sample or trial is appropriate before a larger order. Agree the trial quantity, what will be checked, and who will approve the finished rolls. Published machine dimensions alone do not establish that every film grade can run.

Keep finished rolls identifiable through delivery

Specify wrapping, roll orientation, pallet limits, and label information along with your cutting requirements. Include the parent lot reference and a finished-roll identification format when your production team needs traceability.

Share your required arrival date and delivery location. If rolls need to be held and released in stages, include that request when discussing the converting job.

FAQ
Can you slit my particular film construction?

Send the film type, thickness, coatings, parent-roll dimensions, and required output for review. The team will confirm suitability and whether a trial is needed; film type alone is not a production approval.

Do you supply slitting machinery?

Bengal provides contract converting services using its equipment. Submit a project request when you need material slit or rewound for your production line.
